This allowed the book to be read in a quick fashion, or in short bursts if you prefer that. Everything, Everything is told through very short chapters (no longer than 5-6 pages), with little illustrations and other tidbits thrown in. The writing style is what stole the show for me. I can not imagine the life that she has been forced to live because of SCID, but she was dealing with it perfectly well for 17 years before Olly came along. She slacked on her studies, distanced herself from her nurse (whom she loves) and her own mother, and was irrationally angry when her mom tried to help her. Maddie also drove me insane when she became almost obsessive over Olly, and pushed everyone else in her life away. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black-black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely.
